What does An Adventurous Artful Life look like?

Welcome to An Adventurous Artful Life

Young and naive perhaps, I remember thinking I would pick a life path (read: career) and set a steady course for about 30 years or so, retire, and then…I didn’t know what. Back then, age 50 was so far away I couldn’t imagine that far out. Now, 50 is a few precious years ahead and I wouldn’t trade my life for anything. It’s been incredible, impossible, outlandish, stupendous, thrilling, embarrassing, enchanting, and best of all…mine. Not that I’ve done it all myself, because I haven’t. I’ve gained much from friends, family, mentors and even strangers along the way. Best yet, I want to share what I’ve gleaned with you.

What does An Adventurous Artful Life look like?

Rediscover your future in An Adventurous Artful Life.

I love living An Adventurous Artful Life. It’s hand-crafted, homespun, unique, and one-of-a-kind. But, it’s wildly difficult to craft and create that life space intentionally. Don’t worry. You don’t have to have it all figured out – just a positive attitude, some solid goals, a pinch of resilience, a strong dose of flexibility, and a step off into the right direction. You can live An Adventurous Artful Life – no matter what industry your skillset serves nor what age you are as you read this. I’ve found creativity – especially in problem solving and communication – is more desired and prevalent than its given credit for. The skills I’ve gained along the way, and cultivated intentionally thereafter, catapulted me into positions and networks above what I had ever dreamed.

If you’re not fulfilled in how your skills are serving your current workspace, then let’s do an internal check on your “why” – and then your “how” and “where” will follow. More on that in later posts. For now, ask yourself: Why do I do _____________? Take out a piece of paper, fill in the blank, and write down your answer. Writing thoughts down makes them real. The brain, eye, hand coordination works miracles in reality. Thoughts and feelings that previously “floated” around become concrete. With words on paper, you can review and evaluate. Then, like every scientist, analyze your own data to verify if it’s guiding you closer or further away from your desired goal. More on all that to come. Today, good to meet you. To review, this is writing prompt #1: Why do I do ____________?

I’m so glad our paths connected. I’d love to get to know you and understand your journey. Leave me your Writing Prompt #1 answer in the comments below. As always, I appreciate your honesty and value your time and experiences. They’re unique to you. You’re worth getting to your goals. What’s just beyond them is better than you can imagine. It’s An Adventurous Artful Life of your own – better than you can dream it.

Also, I’ll be referencing these books throughout our conversations if you want to grab your own copies:

  6. Writer to Writer, by Cec Murphey

Okay! Post your answers to WP #1 and get reading the above books. We’ve got some adventuring to do!

Always,

~Marissa
